On June 14, 1960, John Kamnikar was killed in a car accident. The accident occurred two months before John's senior
year at Johnstown High School. John was the quarterback for the Trojan football team and he was in the top ten of his
class. To honor his memory, the football coaches decided to present an annual award to a senior athlete with the
