8/27/08
Welcome to the first installment of “Bullet Points” for 2008. For those of you new to this segment, it is split
in half. The first part is where we talk about any Trojan alumni that are still playing at the college or professional level.
The second part is where we concentrate on the “Little Trojans”, those playing at the JV, Junior High and eighth
and seventh grade level.
Let’s get to it:
Geroy Simon remains a standout receiver north of the border in the CFL. He plays for the BC Lions and
has 27 catches for 530 yards and 3 touchdowns through eight games. However, he missed two contests because of a hamstring
injury but returned to action last Friday night.
LaRod Stephens-Howling is entering his senior year at Pitt and although LeSean McCoy has taken over the
duties of starting tailback, LaRod will see the field plenty this year as he should factor in on some formations that utilize
both he and McCoy. He’ll also continue to contribute as a third down back and will be one of the starting kick returners.
Joining LaRod and Scott Corson on the Panthers’ roster this year is Antwuan Reed.
The Panthers open up this Saturday at home against Bowling Green.
Reg Farrior will be a senior at Shippensburg.
Josh Miller and Aaron Brezovic are playing at IUP.
Ben Landis and Demetrius Young are at Fairmount State. Young was red-shirted a year ago
but Landis handling much of the punting duties.
Andre Morrison is at Lock Haven.
Forrest Harvey is at Westminster.
There are some other guys that I’m verifying if they are still with their college program. When I do, they will be
added to this list.
Now, to the sub-varsity guys. Information on these squads is on its way to me and I’ll update this page as soon
as I get it.
Junior Varsity: The JV Trojans are coached by Mike McMonagle. They begin their season on Monday, September
8 at Forest Hills.
Junior High: Brian Subich is the coach of the freshmen Trojans. Next Thursday they host Forest Hills in
the season opener.
Eighth Grade: this squad is coached by Donny Robertson. They kick things off next Wednesday at Forest
Hills.
Seventh Grade: last but not least, these guys are coached by Adam Campagna. They also start their season
next Wednesday against Forest Hills but they will host the Rangers.
Best of luck to all these former and future varsity Trojans!
